MAKERSPACE & MAKERMOBILE
Branding design for the uOttawa Faculty of Engineering’s Makerspace workshop and vehicle wrap designs for their fleet of Makermobile vehicles. The vehicles travel to local schools and community events, helping to foster creativity, problem-solving skills, and an interest in technology among youth by allowing participants to engage with various types of STEM-related equipment, such as 3D printers and laser cutters.
I used the Faculty of Engineering’s official shade of orange, along with a slate grey and white to create high-contrast shapes and typography, which could be easily recognized from a distance or while the vehicles are in transit. I also created a repeating pattern using vector shapes of some of the equipment that can be found within the Makermobile vehicles. This was used as a background element within the vehicle wraps, as well as on signage for the Makerspace re-opening ceremony.
